Ebay Bargain.........

check out the warranty......from £129.99

don't think so there's loads of em listed separately

Funny you should mention that, there's cheapo flashgun listed at £999 (up from £99.99) and an awful lot of iphone cases at £1000+ when similar ones are under a tenner and they all have had their prices raised from the correct price recently :suspect:

ooops slight slip of the decimal point:D

i guess if they get 1 drunk/loon or even a child buy one it saves making dozens of regular sales

It could be for example, that they've made 10 sales at the price of 11.99.
They then went to revise the listing to reduce the price to 9.99, but missed the decimal, making it £999.
It will then look like 10 people have paid £999 for a product worth £9.99.

Just a possibility anyway

I can shed some light on these 'tactics', however, brace yourself for stupid reason of the century.
I was looking for a 52mm reversing ring, all other sizes were priced at a few quid, however the 52mm was priced at £99.99
I emailed the seller asking if it was a typo, the reply was astounding:
It is not a typo, we only have 1 left in stock so we hike the price so that we do not run out, when they come back into stock we reduce the price again. Go figure

It's simply because it's a permanent listing and they don't have any in stock. So instead of pulling the listing they just put the price up to something stupid so no one will buy it.

Thats very similar an answer I had a couple of years ago when someone wanted some silly amount - then again they did say that some berk did try to buy it at the price stated (over the top price) - so yep its a case of hype the price so no-one buys then drop the price down when they have a few more in stock.....

Exactly the reason above. To pull the listing and relist will cost another bulk of ebay fees. Most listings are either 30 days, or what is called "good til canceled". This means the stock number you put on ebay ticks down, once it its 0, the listing is ended. If you always have more than 1, the listing stays up. Simply raise the price so no one will buy and lower it again once you have stock.
If someone is stupid enough to buy it, then win...
