Edit My Images

HI, thought someone may know of an easy to obtain and use software piece that will allow me to store on, and easily transfer to lightroom and CS3. I want it to be stand alone, ie, a separate programme that I can unload my card into and then either delete or transfer back and forth between lightroon and CS3. also that it accepts RAW or JPEG. Bridge creates no end of problems for me, as CS3 is too old for my D300 and I cant afford to upgrade at the moment.
In anticipation , Thanks

if you have lightroom, as your post implies why not use that for your library? to solve the CS3 being to old for your d300 (I'm sure I processed d300 images in cs3, do you just need an ACR update) can't you download the free dng convertor and convert to dng?

edit cs3 with the right version of acr should support your d300. Just checked. Make sure you have v4.3 of acr installed which supports cs3 and a d300

I agree with Hugh. Lightroom would be the ideal program. From Lightroom you can export images straight into CS3 and then save them back again into Lightroom after any corrections and adjustments. You then have all the images both Photoshoped and non Photoshoped in one place

Just a word of caution. The latest version of Lightroom uses the rendering engine within Photoshop to open the images for Photoshop. Now the problem there is that CS3 may not support all the Lightroom corrections, or use the latest processing pipeline.

However you can get round this easily by doing the following

In Preferences select CS3 as the second image processor
When you select the image to edit in CS3 right click on the image and select Edit In and choose the second Edit in Photoshop CS3. This forces Lightroom to process the image not Photoshop CS3
