Thursday 17th of August till Sunday 20th August is the Eastbourne Airshow. The best day to go is Saturday 19th as the RAF Chinook is going to fly only on this day, plus all the other great planes. So just a heads up if anyone wants to have a great family day out. If you Google Eastbourne airshow, then flying each day you will see all the planes that take part. Red Arrows open it at 12.00.

I normally go every year and its really great. It'd be nice to watch from a different place than the bandstand. Beachy head perhaps...

I have always booked a place in bandstand (which is also easy to walk to from the train station).

How is the crowd at Beachy head? is it too crowded or can you photograph easily?

It can get busy, but if you get a good place to view then seeing the Red Arrows coming in is great.
If you get there early, then you should have a great view.

Went a few years ago - took what seemed like a year to get out of town. May go this year if the weather changes from autumn which seems to have arrived juusssst a little early..

We use to go on the bus, but now train as it is easier.

I usually go to Beachy Head in the knowledge that some of the displays won't come close enough to photograph but some entry/exits or holds may allow shots from above with the sea in the background.

That said, last year I think everything except BBMF and the Sea Vixen transited either a mile out to sea or on a diagonal from behind, missing out Beachy.

The Saturday and Sunday are looking the best days to go :)

Best places to take photos without booking a slot? Is traffic getting in a nightmare?
