Hi All,

I purchased a second hand zoom lens from Grays of Westminster about 6 weeks ago. The lens is a Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR1.

I was cleaning the glass for the first time the other day and I noticed a small quantity of very fine dust within the lens....

The dust doesn't show up on any pictures, and is only visible at certain angles looking through it off the body..

Is this something I should take up with them? I understand I didn't purchase it yesterday, but I purchased it Mint and it should be dust/weather sealed!?!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Gareth.

It's normal - I had the same question. If you lens doesn't have dust in now it will at some point.

Hopefully my new L lens being dust proof will keep dust out a bit better.

It doesn't show up in pictures at all though.

get out and use it cracking lens.
(well not at this time of night)

Lightroom says 5900 photos since I got it

Time to give it a break!!

Another one here, wouldnt worry to much at all,all lens will get dust in them after a while :)

Hands up here, the 70-200 L Ive got has a couple of dust bunnies inside it every zoom will regardless of how dust proof it is if it moves it will get dust in it but will never show on the photo.
