Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows any good locations around Durham city to get some shots? I know there's the castle and cathedral but any good vantage points as opposed to just head on? Is there any other interesting places in or around the city?

Cheers

When i visited I had a walk up to the railway station. Its located on a hill overlooking the city and gives great views of the castle and cathedral.
Hope thats of some help

Hi, there are loads of great spots around Durham
Yes if you go up to the train station you get a good view,
The old bridge leading and cobbled streets winding up the hill into the market place is beautiful
As you get to the top, turn right and go up the next hill leading into the cathedral
The cathedral grounds are usually spectacular
Other than tat if you ask a few different people up there they are sure to help you out! They are great bunch of people up there
Hope this helps
Show us what you get when your back ;-)

The park at the top of the bank above the station, think it might be smith park, its next to the church opposite county hall, along the river by the wear next to the boathouse looking across and up to the catherdral access the river by th esteps next to the pub called the bridge (I think next to the fighting cocks) the bailey area has some good buildings as does the view up from Hatfield college towards the cathedral, just have a wander and you will be suprised
