I've been trying to decide which way I want to go for light, primarily for macro but I will have a play with it for other stuff, and I've come to the conclusion I want to try dual flash using flash guns. I've don't know much/anything about flash and have never really used it apart from ttl on camera. What I'm hoping to achieve is to guns on a dual flexible arm. I have one flashgun (Nissin di622 mkii) which works with the Nikon commander mode but I believe it only works in channel 1 group a (not really sure what that means) I also think it won't work with wireless triggers, so I'm assuming I need another flash that can be set to any channel/group that can be used as a slave? Ideally I'd get a Nikon flash but I'm not sure budget would go that far. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'll try?

If you get a Yongnuo YN560 it'll work with cls on a different group (I think).

If you want to go radio I'd recommend a YN622tx a pair of YN622s and a YN 568 flashgun. They'll fire your Nissin and control the power via iTTL but not adjust the manual power IIRC you'd have to do that at the flashgun.

Thanks guys, can I ask Phil, what benefits do the wireless controller and triggers have over the commander mode in camera? Thanks

And thanks Hoppy, I have seen that thread, and there's some great info and ideas in there, I'll have a more thorough look later

There's a recent thread, I can't link on the phone, but it's half way down the page.
