Hi

Just wondering what you guys think about this?

Advantage to using DSLR would be shooting raw, and a bigger resolution/quality.

But GoPro is easier and I can rotate it using the egg-timer method.

Opinions? :)

I shoot jpeg for time lapse (raw takes up loads of space and is unnecessary IMO unless you have some special requirement) but having manual control is a big plus with the DSLR which you can't do with the GoPro. Also you have much more control over focal length.

Perhaps there is a small compact with manual controls that has good interval timer settings?

I think the G1X would be a superb choice...?

Also, an underwater housing for it is quite cheap (in comparison to other underwater housings) so you would have that as an option too.
