dslr Android triggers

Has anybody tried the dslr remote trigger apps and if so did they have any luck? And if so which app? Currently setting up a IR attachment for my phone to try with the canon 20d

Looks interesting, but my phone is too old, and only backup camera is compatible. Yours won't work (too old as well).

Appreciate the input thank you... All of the apps weren't real clear and comments made it seem more of a hit and miss
