Morning all

I'm about to place an order for a couple of higher end photobooks for a wedding I've just finished processing, but I would like to know on peoples opinions and experiences of Photobooks from both Photobox and DSCL.

I've never used DSCL, but just found that some of the prints I was contemplating ordering are significantly cheaper at DSCL despite using the same print and paper.

Any opinions would be welcomed

I know it's all relative but I could never class any photo book as "higher end". Saying that I get lots of prints form DSCL and have nerves had any complaints.

photobox business model: cheap postage, expensive product
DSCL business model: expensive postage, cheaper product

quality of services offered, extremely similar in my experience

Just because DSCL are competitive with thier pricing does mean a cheaper product and their post and packaging charges may be a bit more than others, but you pay for what you get.

As for photobooks, I can't speak for either but can only reccomend Blurb for the job.

Can't really comment on Blurb but we have one sample photobook from a wedding and that's simply to show people why we don't offer them for weddings. They're simply not robust or durable enough for the amount of handling they are likely to get as a wedding album and clients are likely to look at prices of the like of Blurb and complain about the prices photographers charge for "the same" product.

People actually look at their wedding albums?...................:D

Nah, they just bore other people with them :)

Just had a Blurb large landscape photbook made up with pet shots for my wife. The cover has a white mark where it folds open like the ink has rubbed off in transit to us. The paper is pretty good for this type of book (upgrade paper option chosen).print quality and colours look pretty much exactly like on my pc. Overall happy but still a nigling doubt as to how long the picture cover will last without showing marks or tearing.
