DSCL v Togsprint

I went to use Togsprint last week when they were down so headed over to DSCL instead and had 2x 16x12 and 1x 18x12 which were £1.05 each and £1.10 for the larger. Today i went back to have a look at Togsprint and they are charging £8 special price for a 18X12.

I dont understand, the prints i received are excellent quality and i cant see why paying more would make it better so why are they so much more expensive at Togs?

Maybe im being thick here but the light bulb has yet to come on:thinking:

Same here I use DSCL, for £8 you can get 2 18x12 pearl prints at DSCL!!
 
togs print are primarily a large format printers, so are set up for small runs of amazing quality with good QC.

dscl do loads of little prints in an automated way

if I was ordering more than a few prints it'd be dscl or sams (who I've been intending to try for a while), a big or important print is going to togsprint

got a personal thing for canvasses though :D
 
I have used both printers and both are good for differing reasons.
 
Thanks all for confirming, i must admit i though £1.10 for a 18x12 was stupidly cheap but thought i would give it ago to be surprised by the quality and colours which are outstanding. After hunting through various other online printers and seeing the price typically £8-£10ish i though maybe my eyes are playing with me and my print is rubbish but you've all put my mind to rest.

To be honest I cant actually SEE how it could be better, certainly not at this size anyway.

DSCL are just as good as dearer outlets ... I've recently compared their pearl metallic with another supplier who charged 3x more ..... no difference

Their standard lustre prints are excellent

I`ve thought about getting some metallics done but have never seen any to compare them to normal prints. Are they worthwhile and do they suit certain subjects ? :)
 
Another vote for DSCL. Price, service and quality are all superb. Used them many, many times.
 
Another DSCL vote here, used them for hundreds of prints in the past and they are great

Saying that, Lee @ Togs was good with me for a canvas print and a pano print, quality on both were great
 
I use both companies & find both excellent...

DSCL prints up to 18x12, especially lustre, take some beating for quality vs price. I agree with the previous comments that it's difficult to see how you could get better quality at these sizes.

Above 18x12 however DSCL are not quite so good & this is certainly where Togsprint are excellent. I've used them for a few large format prints together with a 6 x 3 feet canvas which my customer was delighted with. Customer service from Lee has always been top notch too.

whats so good about pearl metallic is this a special grade of paper ?
 
Reckon you will have your prints by Thursday, Friday at the latest. I have found them to be really fast and great quality. Of course they can only be as good as what they get...

Lee does out of the ordinary sizes, like when people supply a frame that Great Grandma Edith left them and they want that mount as well.............:thinking:

Togsprint are very accommodating,helpful and do a good product, he gets all my over A4 stuff.
