If you are happy with your shot stick with pro it's the only option I choose.

Pro only, every time...........

Just make sure you have the pic as you want it.

The standard service, they will attempt to colour and exposure correct your image and try to make it fit your chosen print size (usually by either leaving white bars top and bottom or right and left OR by cropping bits out of your photo) but if you have already resized it to match the prints aspect ratio and are happy with your own colour correction you should choose the pro option.

+1

I always resize in photoshop for the size of the print required and sharpen ready for uploading. Pro option all the time for me.

another question: would you resize files to suit appropriate print size?

Sure original file (mine is around 12Mb - full frame, 350dpi) would work, but for 7x5 print, it seemed unnecessarily big.

Anyway, I use original file size all the time and refuse 'optimisation for upload'. I only lame the upload could take forever.

I always resize, I've even sent a 7x5 file by accident to print at 18x12 and except for the crop the quality was still excellent :bonk:

Yup I resize to suit the size required. I have a print order upload file set up and I put the print size at the start of each file name (if that makes sense), saves time I feel when placing large monthly orders. Have never had a mishap ordering the wrong sized print yet (touch wood).

sounds good folks. I notice you didn't mention using the DSCL 'optimisation for upload'.

Rather than start a new thread can someone just clear this up for me.

I am sending off a handful of images for print and i am not sure what to re resizing, do i send a 300dpi image for the photo size or just send the max res image but with the right aspect ratio?

I need a couple of 6x4s so resize to 1800x1200?

Smallest I've resized to is 7x5 but yes for 6x4 I would resize to 1800x1200.
