Sent my files last Friday they turn up today and 11 out of the 51 prints have grey lines running through them, apparently got corrupt through the sending process. So it baffles me why they still print them and send them along with a letter to say they got corrupted on the send so send them again but this time its best not to use our ordering system but email them.

This was my first order and i even stated this on the notes, baffles me why someone couldnt use common sense and communicate with me last saturday when these were printed instead of writting me a letter to say they are corrupted. Cant see the sense in paying for special next day delivery if the ones they are sending you are no good.

Not a great first experience with a company i have heard everyone raving about.

Dave:thumbsdown:

I stopped using them when they sent me a note with my prints, to tell me to use their new ordering system, and to not order matte and gloss prints in the same order.

I queried the note, and I told them their new ordering system wasn't compatible with the Mac (it wasn't then - no idea if it is now), and that I wasn't willing to pay postage twice, just because I wanted gloss AND matte prints. They replied, and said just to ignore the note.

So why send it in the first place????

:cuckoo::bonk:

Ive never had a problem either, I guess you can get the odd error with any company, i'm sure they will put it right for you? I wouldn't right them off because of it, at least give them a chance to put it right?

Did you select the "pro" option?

Im just moaning as i cant belive thats the system they use )especially for new customers) i mean common sense should prevail my contact details are there for a reason arnt they  and when they have 10 minutes to spare to write a letter to explain that the files got corrupted but we still printed them (and posted them ) anyway...well someone with common sense should pick up that phone.

The other prints were fine:thumbs:

Did you pick up the phone and query the issue with them or did you basically decide it was so important that you would come on here and rant first.
My guess is if you had phoned them they would have sorted it, also i guess you are not paying for the prints and they have sent them to show you as it might have actually been your fault even though they are saying it was the sending process.
I really dont see what the company have done wrong. :dummy:

I had exactly the same problem, I was told it was to do with a corrupt files and so sent fresh versions of the Jpegs to get them reprinted. I received a phone call saying it had happened again and could I email them in.
Bit of a PITA but DSCL were very helpful about it.

I ordered matt, gloss and pearls on last order, no probs.

The reason why they still got printed is because as soon as you upload your images they get put into the printing que (yes 24hours) as their system is automated. All DSCL do is pick them up off the printer and package them up. It's how they keep their running costs down by automating things and are able to get the prints to you the next morning.

This is interesting.

I am a mac user and have always used DSCL as the service provided is normally first rate, shame about the Royal Mail delivery option but that is another story, I have switched to Courier. I received a large order yesterday and a couple of images had parts cut off and I am waiting from a response from Jonathan. I resize all files in CS4 prior to upload and use the pro option, I think this is a one off due to the large number of orders they have a day.

Dave regarding corrections and customer service they are normally spot on and will reprint the files. You may have to upload them again though if corrupted. But give them another shot.

Could be a determining factor, although everyone deserves professional treatment, i've had a couple of orders from them, the first their was an error which was my fault but they still sent me another print free of charge, and the communication on the phone was very good too, the second order was fine and i ordered gloss and lustre on the same order, delivery is quick and there packaging is spot on particularly for larger prints (they send them in a box) i will definitely be using them again  from me.

I received a note in my order saying my filenames are too long :(

I have had 1 corrupted file in my order, it was the one I uploaded using the web interface, everything else was uploaded using the java program they have.

You can actually see the corrupted file in the preview, I uploaded it multiple times and saw the exact same corruption with the same file, didn't do it with another file I tried.

They did send me the fixed print FoC though.

YOU KNOW NOTHING PAL

I HAVE HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITYH THIS COMPANY OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS.

asked to resend them via email (oh dont worry we can handle that size email) so spent an hour trying to upload them all the failed images only to get mailer demon from them seems that they hadnt emptied something or other, Then was asked why dont i try a third party email sysyem or something :bang:.

sitting here today after seven phone calls later still no prints ordered as i now have to send them the usual way and they will credit me. For a first order they sure now how to impress there new customers..............NOT

apparently this is a rare thing that only happens to about 1/30,000 orders...oh unlucky me ay

i think DSCL might be having some issues with their new style ordering system. I have spoken to them many times and whilst their service is fantastic when it works, they aren't very helpful when things fall over. Be patient mate, their prices and services on a good day (which is quite often) is unbeatable. Don't knock them over one order.

Is your screen calibrated mate?

I've tried most 'suggested' printers but always go back to Loxley... they are just better, to me at least.

Tried their collage maker and had print yesterday - brilliant, no problems here

I agree. I have had problems with DSCL before and didn't find them particularly helpful.

Loxley please.
