Does anyone have any experience of these -

thedrybootcompany.com/product/harris-dry-boot/

I want them more for more general walking(eg walking with the dog) rather than hills.

Being rubber they shouldn't suffer from leaking, which it seems to happen eventually to most of the trainers I use for dog walking.

Thanks

Dave

No but they look pretty nice actually. Let me know if you get some and like them.

I suspect the main issue you might have with them is weight. Rubber is really very heavy compared to a modern walking boot.

I'd be interested to hear what they're like.
Might be waterproof, but might make your feet sweat a lot?
I use hiking boots and they're fairly waterproof to an extent. If I step in a puddle and my whole foot is submerged then the water gets in which would be the same with these rubber boots.
Wearing gaiters helps a lot in keeping water out too....

I had a pair. They are thoroughly waterproof. Johnathan mentions weight - yes they do feel heavy. They actually feel heavy to lift, but not so bad once you get walking.
Perhaps not the best footwear if you have the build of a stick insect.

Thanks Jonathon. I too wondered about the weight

Thanks Bob, I also thought about how sweaty you feet might get, but I suppose its the price for complete water proofness in a rubber boot.

If I get a pair I'll report back.

Thanks Doug, can you remember if their sizing is good(ie if you take a size 10 normally will the Dryboot size 10 be OK too)? If I go for a pair I'm trying to reduce the chance of having to return them if the size is wrong.

I reckon the sizing is OK. I take size 43 (shoes and boots) and I wore 2 pairs of socks with them and had no discomfort whatsoever.

Says they are vegan friendly, look more appetising than some of the Tofu products i've seen

Back to being more serious, as has been mentioned these rubber type boots are weighty.
Also found some types can have a bit too much give when you could do with some support.
Must be said I haven't tried this particular design, but have had similar over the years.

Thanks, Doug.

The info about them says they have a steel shank in the sole but I also wondered about the general firmess of them, although I'm not too bothered about that as the main use would be easy walking.

They are firmer than wellies, but not quite as firm as leather walking boots,
