hi guys
i live only an hours drive from the lovely countryside of derbyshire but will be holidaying in Yorkshire later on, i have also started doing a bit of sketching and watercolours too, does anyone have any photos i could use as reference material that contain old farm buildings (ruins or not) dry stone walling and sheep in a countryside setting please, or name locations where they can be found as i dont want to spend all day trying to find the location first.
Any help or info gratefully received..

steve

I can't name any locations but have a look at this site -

http://www.geograph.org.uk/

They aim to get photographs of every grid square in the UK and Ireland.

It will take a bit of time to go through them but you can search for the area you are visiting and see if there is anything suitable.

Hurst near Reeth is a nice spot

The area around Gunnerside is rife with great dry stone walls

And towards the end of Swaledale, around Muker and Keld, and the road up to Tan hill offer some great options too

I know Swaledale much better than the other dales, as it is so close to me, but there are countless opportunities as you head west from Reeth.
