I love to travel and obviously also, photography. What are everyones top 5 dream destinations to travel/photograph? I am hoping to tick of as many as I can over the next few years.

1. Canadian Rockies
2. Japan
3. Safari (again) been to South Africa and loved it, would go back or perhaps Botswana this time.
4. Argentina/Chili
5. Alaska

I would love to see where else is on everyones list!

I want to visit the Seychelles at some point before they disappear beneath the waves, partly to get some shots but mainly to see what I can find out about some family history there.
Would love to "do" the Galapagos Islands but can't help feeling that they're best left to their own devices.
New Zealand is a possibility at some point, friends and family to visit as well as some breathtaking shooting opportunities.
Looking forward to Iceland - not long now!

Yes, Iceland is definitely on my list as well. Probably in winter for the Northern Lights.

1. Antarctica
2. India .
3. Canada..
4. Iceland
5. Nepal/Himalayas regions
Hoping to see northern lights in 3/4 , have been lucky enough to visit India and Canada several times and would go back in an instant , both were superb countries to visit,

Has to be Iceland for me. The other four would be:

Coast and forests of NW USA.
Alaska for scapes & wildlife.
New York for city stuff.
Lastly, I would love to take a year out and travel around the UK coast. We really do have some hidden gems out there.

Iceland tops my bucket list.

Still scratching the surface of what our great country has to offer too. Love the Peak District but really need to move closer to a nice bit of fricking coast line, love the North Cornwall/Devon coast, Scotland is full of epic, got west wales coast/snowdonia booked for this year.

Did the Rockies a few years back. Stunning. Into Vancouver, hire car, up the Icefields Parkway to Calgary. Don't miss Banff, and take plenty of money - not cheap, Canada.

In 24 hours or so, I (and 10-11 others) will be able to start ticking Iceland off our lists!

And Jasper.....And try to work it in with the Calgary Stampede! :-)

Chuck wagon racing is brilliant. Think of speedway with horses instead of bikes. This is from the Rycroft races. Quite a few of the smaller towns hold events.

Stampede would be fab, thinking of going to the Rockies next September but may look at changing dates around to fit it in. I would also love to visit Nashville for the CMA festival. Add that too my list!

We went to the Galapagos Islands in late '89 as part of our holiday in Ecuador. Very different then from how it is now, something like a third to a quarter the number of visitors they get now.
Went to NZ twelve years ago. Thoroughly recommended. We did a three week coach tour as I wanted a holiday from driving so we probably missed some good bits but still memorable.

Agreed..,the Calgary stampede is fantastic , you really need a few days there to see it all and as Ruth said the atmosphere all over the city is great..I'd love to do it again too.

I want to visit every continent before I kick the bucket and only have two to complete the set. Here is where I'd like to visit and some I would like to see again.
1. Antarctica
2. South Dakota (planning to next year)
3. Lofoten Islands
4. Japan (went there in 1992, want to go again)
5. Bhutan (been before and just a magical place)
6. Yukon Territory
7. Florence and Rome
8. Brazil
9. Any African Safari (been to the Masai Mara)
10. Australia

A mix of places I have been and those I really want to see...

US Southwest & California
Iceland
Canadian Rockies
Lofoten Islands
Scottish Highlands

My Top 5 destinations for Travel Photography (as already listed in my folder)

1. Antarctica
2. Patagonia (Argentina/Chile) especially Torres del Paine & Perito Moreno Glacier
3. Namibia & Garden Route, South Africa
4. Kenya for 'The Great Migration'
5. The Galapagos Islands

Also:
Atacama Desert in Northern Chile & Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
Cuba especially for the Street Photograpy
Tuscany, Italy
Yellowstone National Park & Yosemite National Park
Easter Island
Buenos Aires - going there this May

I could go on Antarctica and then Patagonia in one destinations.

1. San Blas islands - remote way of life that won't exist in 20 years time (due to sea level rises)
2. Etosha National Park - Just returned from Botswana (Chobe and Okovango Delta) and South Africa (Blyde River and Kruger)
3. Lofoten Islands - but only if I can sail there
4. Simla, Bombay and Dehli
5. A rail journey to Sarajevo via Paris, Munich, Budapest.

Iceland
Skye(/wild Scotland)
Lake Louise and that region of Canada
Parts of the US already posted
Svalbard (going this Summer!)

I want to visit the Seychelles at some point before they disappear beneath the waves, partly to get some shots but mainly to see what I can find out about some family history there.

I went there on our honeymoon before I got into photography, it's fantastic. (Don't bother too much with the main island.)

No real top places I don't think. I just want to go everywhere.

Iceland has always been high on my list. Even less likely to get there now I've moved to Australia... ah well.

New Zealand would be good. Reckon you need to spend at least 3 weeks driving around though.

Finally made it to Tasmania last month. It was awesome, but definitely need to go back and spend longer exploring off the beaten track. (Before it all gets chopped down as well).

Coming back to the UK later this year, and planing to drive up the West coast of Scotland. Which is something I should've done a long time ago.

Loads of great ideas. Plenty of differences but some common themes.

I am planning a return to Africa for next year,. Considering a Namibia fly drive or Zambia/Lake Malawi.

Sunrise/Sunset Mt Tiede, Tenerife

Spell-check for Tenerife suggests Stiffener!!!!

Iceland is beginning to feel a bit "overdone" IMHO. So many of the same pictures coming from there such as the inevitable bits of ice on the black beach. I've been and deliberately went completely in the other direction away from all the uber-popular spots to try and find something different. Tricky though, but the fly fishing is superb!

The Faroe Islands are excellent - a road less travelled. Well worth a visit and not too pricey to get to at all. Also they are small enough to get around end to end without any hassle, unlike Iceland which is quite big. No glaciers though :-(

Venice is particularly amazing. Done to death, but very nice all the same, especially if you get up early before the hordes. You can then take some pics and spend the rest of the day in a bar watching the world go by.

North west Scotland, particularly the Outer Hebrides, are simply wonderful.

I'm with the South American contingent above. My next major trip will be to Patagonia and the Atacama - should be immense I think.

I'd like to try Lofoten but fear that is about to get in to the same territory as Iceland.

Aspirational spots I'd like to try - Greenland, Kamchatka peninsula, weird islands off the northern Siberan coast (prob. not in winter!), and that long chain of sticky-out islands trailing southwest of Alaska (Aleutian Islands??). For all of these I will need a helicopter.

I've been to India twice and it's a wonderful country. Unfortunately I'm not a good flyer so no more long-haul for me, but for some reason I can't explain I have always wanted to visit the Azores.

What's slightly frustrating for me, is that ice been to some amazing places......before I was into photography. Went to Africa (Jo'berg, Durban, Garden Route, Capetown, Namibia, Botswana, Zim/Zam and Malawi. Love to go back now! Went to some unbelievable places.....if I knew then what I knew now!!

Bangladesh/Thailand/Russia/New York. Again before I knew anything about cameras/photography.

Was just talking about this with the in laws last night. I'd like to go without the family (purely as a photographic trip) as they'd be bored of my snapping.

Iceland/Lapland/Scandinavia
Scotland (!)
Africa again
India
New Zealand

Some interesting ideas. I've been travelling the last few years to places I've always wanted to go, but always travelling around, going to the out of the way places, not tourist. So far I've been to Sri Lanka, Thailand, driven around the South USA up to Georgia and Tennessee, and all around Europe, sometimes on flying visits.

End of the month I'm heading back to venice, later in the year I'm driving California to Vegas, via yosemite.

Next year I fancy India, starting at the Pakistan border to see the syllabised flag lowering ceremony, riding some trains, driving a bit.

I've been to Kazakhstan a few times and last time was invited on a fishing trip to the Ili river. The countryside, towns and villages and the people too were fantastic and I'd love to do it again with time to stop and take pictures.

Other than that I'd like to see the northern lights.

I don't care if I get pictures that have been done to death by others as if I get them they're mine :D

PS. I wouldn't go to some of the places mentioned, maybe I'm looking at the worst possible scenario but I don't think some places are all that safe these days.

Whilst the UK is beautiful, I think the USA has gargantuan opportunities for landscape photography. Full of life unlike the baron Lake District - though still beautiful in its own right.

For me:
1) Yosemite
2) Key West
3) Arizona
4) New York
5) French Alps
