Downloading from camera?

I think this goes here but if not will someone please move it to Post Processing...?

With my new digi I got Fuji Finepix Viewer which I've installed. I can download from camera into this then click & drag into Photoshop but image size is approx 48"x36" at 72dpi.
I resize in PS to 12"x9" at 300dpi. Is there a better way of doing this? Can I download direct into PS? :shrug: Probably a stupid question but I'm new to digital capture! Thanks.

Also. downloading eats camera batteries! Going to get mains adaptor/cradle.

Use a card reader cheap and effective plus you dont need your camera connected to the pc

Also check you preferences in Photoshop. Check Preferences> Units and rulers, to set the print size ppi to 300

I always just plug USB straight into my D200 and elements downloads the images into a library. The fact that the same USB lead also connects to my DS and PSP makes it easier for me to do it this way

Don't know about photoshop, but Elements 6 is great for downloading/sorting/editing images (if like me you can't afford/pc is too slow for lightroom)
