Yes
Not only have photography & Amateur Radio eaten into my savings, after buying my grandsons a scalextric set, I've already ordered additional track (twice) and now I keep looking at what cars to add tostart "a collection".....

I think it's the retired petrol head in me rearing its head.....

Looking forward to buying my grandson a set in a few years.

Wow!

The 3D wooden models look good.

Built a fair few of them over lockdown (and since!) Personally find the U-Gears ones best, although the Rockr ones are good too.

Didn't scalextric do a replica of the Maclaren 6 wheeler F1 car for a short time? I bet that's a rarity. ;

For me, the true scalextric car is a Lotus F1 car design from the 50s/60s.

Wasn't the 6 wheeler a Tyrell?

IIRC there were a few prototypes floating around but only the Tyrell made it onto the race track. One of my favourite Tamiya models to build back in the day!

Well I am a Mini fan, and I've just bought a "Mini Challenge" set off of FB Marketplace, just up the road from me. Now I can play Mini's on the track..... Mind you, the two Ford Puma's the new set came with are a bit quick.....IMG_2821.jpeg

Ooh, that’s a rocky road to go down. I once went to a Scalextric party a long time ago and ended up travelling all over the country most weekends building them, racing them, crashing them.

Over the years I did it probably cost me more than photography gear! Good fun though. :ROFLMAO:
