Yes
I am heading back to the UK next week for a few days and my parents have just left London to retire in Dorchester. I have never been to Dorset as far as I am aware, I have had a quick Google but I have not had any time to do any real research other than what appears to be the usual coastal stuff like Durdle Door and Portland Bill.

Would love some advice of a few places - I love my landscapes and architecture, will be taking my tripod and will have a car (although I have momentary lapses of driving on the wrong side) to get around. Any tips on good locations would be much appreciated as I am only there for 2-3 days.

Thanks, Zaytsev

Excellent, thanks Mike. The Cobb looks like an excellent spot.

Is there anywhere that I could get any shots of fishermen landing their catch?

There are often fishing boats in West Bay near Bridport so it might worth asking around the harbour.

West Bay is probably the closest place to catch catches being landed but Lyme Regis may be a better bet (and not too far away!)

Pretty sure Mike's auto co-wrecked has done the dirty on Cerne to make it serene! Portland Bill might be worth a visit along with Chesil Beach. If possible, take in Lulworth Cove and Stair Hole as well as Durdle Door.

Thanks Stuart, I will see if I can do my usual trick and buy something from the fishermen that looks great but I have no idea how to cook it...

Nod, Thanks for the locations, i'll put them on the list - I did type in serene as I had no idea it was mean to be Cerne and wondered why google looked blank!

If you want a stunning landscape not too far from Dorchester and better in my opinion to Maiden Castle, try Eggardon Hill. The view down the valley to the sea is stunning, especially in the late afternoon. Plus the road is so narrow that if you can't drive on the wrong side of the road hahaha

Thanks for the suggestion and having my (and other road users) driving welfare in mind Gavin!
