When you have composed a lovely seascape,

prepared for the likely hood of that 1 shot when the water hits the rocks and gives a lovely smooth water.

wait patiently,

then Boom the water comes in... you push the button.... the shutter opens.. shutter closes... could not be more perfect!

Until you look at the image and notice

"Oh *****, my shadow is over the rock and you can just see a upper body shaped shadow in the photo"

you look to take the photo again but tide has now come in too far
:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

oh well moved onto another section and got some i was happy with.

any one else done this? or did i just have a momentary lapse of brainpower!

Rusty!

a picture speaks a thousand words, come on, where are the pictures

Had a look last night and the others seem to be ok, and i must have been moving during the exposure so there isn't a solid me,

muppet!

You should make different shapes. Could be quite funny to have a large bat shape or daft smiley appear ;)

if i'd been stuck with it, then i think i'd have gone the square route!

i've found one where i didn't stand still long enough to cause a problem so will just use that one lol.

I just tried a square crop on that image and I thought it was quite good!

Its a nice shot bar the shadow.

Can i ask is that simply a vertical panoramic image you've taken? So a couple images stitched together?

Cheers, nope thats straight from the 7D just adjusted levels a tiny bit when converting from raw.

what made you think it was stitched?

Image just looks very long, probably because i havent taken a photo with the camera on its side yet lol so dont know the outcome :D

Great shot though mate, where was this taken?

cheers, it was taken down at Saltburn in England,

just back from doing some late night shots of the pier at night!

Least this proves you are not a vampire............but yes, been there done that.

I would like to capture a dramatic seascape, but not sure how to do it. Will carry on trying though.

I'm still in search of getting one I'm fully happy with. Will upload some stuff soon and you can see.
