....waiting for new camera batteries to charge?

However, they are now charged, and I am RTFM!! I have to, the D200 is consdierably different to my beloved D70s.

Hang on, I hear you cry, I thought you were buying that nice and relatively inexpensive Tokina 12-24 next?

Hmmm, yes, I was, until I saw this lil baby on ebay, and in a moment of sheer impetuous madness, put in an offer over £100 short of the buy it now price, not really expecting it to be accepted......

....he who holds he purse strings was considerably more shocked than I when it was, it has to be said. :whistling:

S/H, but with only 1500 actuations, it looks like its never been out of the box, in fact, the charger, cables, etc haven't, still neatly factory wrapped. So I pressume it was a back up body for someone. So, wish me luck, it certainly turns on and takes pictures, so will report back in a day or two with operational standards....oh, and the sensor is clean too so no need to ask Janice to wipe a pad over it! ;)

Now then, whilst I would like to keep the D70s too, I suspect there will be a for sale sign appearing in its LCD anytime soon, as the boss has spoken [mainly in words I dare not repeat here], but in the meantime, I am one very happy bunny!! :D

Someone's going to be dreaming of Nikon tonight (or is that having nightmares  just kidding) congratulations on your new toy & look forward to seeing your pics

I certainly do (Hate the waiting), but it pales in significance to the pleasure of buying new toys :D

Enjoy your D200!

Nice one Ladylens  - the D200 was an even bigger leap for me from a D50 - I am still learning how to use it after 9months & found the Thom Hogan e-book the best User Guide out there ...

Paul :nikon:

 Thats gorgeous, crisp, sharp, the lot :D

nice one :) I got a shot of a D200 again a couple of weeks ago, lovely camera

:) :)
Happy days

Nice one LL - hope you enjoy

I have made a discovery about the D200....

....with a sigma 70-300 stuck on the front, its flamin heavy! I had to open up the apertures so I could use a fast enough shutter speed to stop hand shake! :bonk: I think I need some time in the gym building up arm and shoulder strength, and until then, those long distance big DoF shots will have to be for tripod mounted times only!

However, I don't care, took it over to Alexandra Palace the afternoon, and despite the weight problems, got some lovely birdy shots. Now I need to go back to manual reading, its braketing settings had me totally stumped, just as the clouds got interesting and I was going to do some stuff for more HDR playing. :(

I am not impatient, really I'm not!! :whistling:

A quick one from about 10 minutes ago in the garden....I'm in love!!
