I have been trying to return a Corsair Power unit under their 7 year warranty, it stinks. They flatly refuse to give and UK Phone numbers or details and keep referring to contact them in the US at my expense .Eventually they admitted they have a shipping dept here in the UK but refuse to give any details. I don't think I have ever dealt with such and uncooperative company in my life.
i obtained a ticket number but they wanted an invoice of the purchase which I would include it the parcel to go back. They would not even accept that let alone give a UK return address which I discovered they don't have, and the selling companies won't accept it back. to top it all they even wanted my credit card details so they could scam me into a purchase for a replacement.

DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS

Their warranty page says they have a place in Bolton for returns: http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/support/warranty

The RMA process sounds straight forward to me, and similar to other companies.

I recently returned a video card to AMD within a few weeks before the 3 year warranty expired. I had to send them a scan of the original purchase for them to give me a return approval. I then had to post the card (at my expense) to Canada which had to be signed for, include the RMA number on the outside and include a pro-forma invoice in a clear plastic folder on the outside of the package. It weighed less than 1kg but still cost me £15 for insured delivery. Didn't hear anything for a few weeks and then a refurbished card arrived from China.

Why are they refusing?

Corsair products on the whole are actually pretty good.

They don't want to know or offer any form of paying for posting back to the USA , that' why, it is not cost effective for them. Even Scan computers where I purchased it from won't take it back. I did an internet live chat with them and they didn't even know about the place in Bolton until i pointed this out . then they claimed it was for supplies only

In reading the information in the link above, it all seems like a normal RMA process to me, with an RMA location in Bolton. As Neil has said, the credit card details are to enable a replacement PSU to be sent out before they receive the defective one back. The actual terms of the warranty will normally have been included with the documentation sent by Scan.

So did you actually request an RMA? And did they give you and RMA with a return address?

It sounds like they did, but you are refusing to provide the evidence you bought it, and to return it there at your own expense, and to pay for the replacement delivery charges. So basically you don't want to comply with all their terms and conditions for a 4 year old device which is out of statutory warranty yet that they are willing to replace. Is that the short of it, and now Corsair are bad and shouldn't be bought from?

I hope I misunderstand, but that is how it comes across to me.

Tbh, for a PSU it's probably not worth the stress. Just buy a new one and put it down to experience.
Yes from a customer service point of view it sucks. But at least its ££ (?) and not £££

I am more than happy with my Corsair Ram and SSD bought 5 years ago but can understand your frustration when their customer service seems poor.
