I bought a Panasonic Blu-Ray player yesterday which can connect to my WIFI so I can get iPlayer on the TV etc. It looks like I need a wifi dongle to plug in the back. Can anyone reccomend one that's not a Panasonic one as they are expensive!

TV is also Panasonic.

Thanx

Yeah i have been reading that you need the manufacturers one but I'm sure there must be a few universal ones that will work....I hope!

Agree with Jonathan, powerline adapters are the way to go. Need to buy a pair, one connects to the router and another to your device.

Great thing about these, are they are portable and work with virtually anything that has an ethernet port. So you can use them with dvd players, ps3's, etc.

If you can, I'd advise going for the 500Mbps set, rather than the 200Mbps, for a bit of futureproofing.

whats the model no?

I have no spare outputs from the router so not sure the home plugs will work. Will look into it though.

Thanks

You need a cheap switch (£5 for a 10/100 one, £13 for a gigabit one) which would give you an extra 4 ports at your router. May well be worth getting another one for the other end - you can never have enough ethernet ports (28 here and counting ;))

I have found the proper dongle on Amazon at a very good acceptable price so have ordered that.

Thanks for all your help chaps.

I had to buy a sony one for mine £70 wasn't impressed to say the least

I expect they could build them in for less than £5!!
