Does "talk Photography" include posting images

Because PS removes it when you save for web.

File > Export > Save for web (legacy) seems to keep exif intact for me :)

I often look at the exif from a pic when I would like to gain information on how the image was taken, it often helps to see how I might be able to improve in my choice of settings.

Don't seem to have that on mine

Don't know if this helps the OP or if I should ask in the Site Help thread, but I was trying to find a photo that I had posted in a thread recently and couldn't find a way to do it other than skimming through all my posts until I found it. (the photo wasn't in my gallery) When an image is posted directly into the thread then there may not be an easy way of finding it, so a member could be posting photos that wouldn't be in their gallery when someone looked there. I think this is quite common in equipment threads where quite a few people seem to post photos with their new kit.

Shame really and a reminder that encouragement can do a lot more that criticism :)
I usually think I'm not adding much if what I post amounts to "WoW" and in fact recently people have said that that kind of post is rather inane.

I think people are more inane than encouragement :)

I post in the X-T1 thread as part of the discussions of the gear.

The last time I posted a photo in one of the sections I was threatened with a ban for posting it. Nothing wrong with the picture, no nudity or obscenity, was correctly labelled and it was in the correct section. Was quite a good photo I thought. Didn't stop the threat being made. Why? Never found out.

Don't post in the general sections anymore.

No thank you.
I reported his original post and guess which moderator dealt with my report?
Carpet, swept, under.

No point in raking it over. He will deny it. I'm only a member. I just don't put my pics where they will get that sort of response.
End of.

Well you've posted an allegation, used a fair bit of innuendo and then say end of?

Not exactly fair play is it?

All seems very strange though. Thousands of photos are posted on the site yet, apparently, you posted one and was threatened with a ban because of it.

Just to put the record straight, its me that's being talked about.

Ah but the rest of the mod team would have also seen it.
I was taken out the back and given six lashes with the cat-o-nine-tails.

The comment I made was over 3 years ago ( I totally forgotten all about it TBH)
I certainly don't remember what I posted yesterday let alone 3 years ago!

@SarahLee found the thread, thanks for that
Besides the word used was suspend, not ban.

Here is the thread guys, you judge for your self, was I kidding or was I serious?

And the comment was made to Ade @fracster while discussing where to put images of birds.

If you CBA to read the whole thread here is the pertinent quotes.

One of my major , in fact only, complaint about this section. I really fail to understand why captive birds are shown in the wild bird section.
While I understand what you are trying to say Ade,
it doesn't say "wild" birds, just birds ;)
Had it been posted in Nature wild and free, however,
I would have had to suspend his membership :D

.

Yep. I actually remember seeing the report.
I've found the post that was RTM'd, but unfortunately I can't locate the staff discussion thread that went with it.
(Have you got any idea how far down the back of the mod sofa a thread can fall in 3 years :wideyed:)

Anyway, I can say with complete honesty that everyone who viewed it at the time interpreted it as the joke it's clearly intended to be . . . and looking back at it now, I still can't see it as anything other than a joke/banter.

The six lashes were nothing to do with the report BTW.
That was just for the fun of it :D

I think I'm over due the next six BTW

Just read it, forgotten that I got a kicking off Yvonne because of it..........:D
I never read the whole thing TBH, just the post I made,
Oh and you probably deserved it anyway :p

In fairness, when I have been booted off here, it has "generally" been deserved.......:naughty:

Try not to appear too eager :p

I'm saying nothing :D

Yes we do occasionally joke about banning / suspending someone ( with them) from time to time,
but if we do it its taken seriously and after a discussion ;)

i've no idea why they let you back on

Back to OP, yes the general crowd that shout the loudest have a mediocre standard even on a good day.
Top marks for a stinky bait thread

I'd argue with that and all I did was RTM some spam :(;)

Hey, Who said I was the one doing the administering?
I think its your turn BTW

That was actually nothing to do with me,
However I did beg "her" not to let you back in again, but no one listens to me :(

Well only on a Saturday anyway.
We do have a rota for these things you know, and when I joined up it was either that or cleaning out the staff toilets again

Eww!! Good call!!

Suddenly cleaning loos doesn't sound that bad ;)

If you only knew the state that they leave them in, you really wouldn't be saying that!

I dunno thinking if the alternative

Hmm couldn't find a snake one)

Hey, Who said I was the one doing the administering?

Don't you just give him the Co9T and tell him to do it himself these days?
