Hi again.

What's the difference between the cokin p filter holder and the wide angle version ? Is there really much difference ?

Looking to be used on a sigma 17-70 (think it's 72mm).

cHEERS.

Anth,

The wide angle holder (BW100A, if I remember correctly) only holds one filter and it is closer to the lens to help reduce vignetting. Normally 17mm would be too wide for a P-series but I think you'll get away with it on a crop sensor body.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply.

I think I shall probably opt for the normal holder then - as I may wish to use several filters (normally a CPL and an ND to get a few more stops on sunny days!!!!).

Cheers for your help.

How's your monitor holding up by the way ?

Thanks.

Anth.

Iirc I only found it necessary to get the wide holder for using the Sigma 10-20 at it's wider settings (it still vignettes at 10mm though), for everything else the normal holder was fine.

I use a standard Cokin P system on my Sigma 17-70 on a crop camera and it doesn't cause any vignetting at all.

I get vignetting at 17mm on 17-55 with standard holder as CB describes...
