Yes
Just picked up an i5 13th gen PC and about to buy 32GB ram for it. Price wise DDR5 is twice the price so does it give much benefit for Lightroom Classic ? If there difference is minimal I'll probably use DDR4 and spend the saving on a decent SDD drive. Many thanks

:agree:

Crucial has a tool which scan your system and make recommendations. Of course, you don't need to buy from them.

Sorry if my post was ambiguous. The PC does support DDR5 just wondered if its worth it for editing over DDR4

The point being made is the DDR4 and DDR5 modules are physically different. You won't really notice a difference in performance but if you buy DDR4 it won't fit!

Thanks guys - i never knew this. so when people say it's only a few quid more for DDR5, that's not quite true as you'll need a new motherboard as well.

There's a much bigger price difference between different speeds of DDR5 (or different speeds of DDR4) than between the fastest DDR4 and slowest DDR5.
The price difference is a consideration when planning a new PC build - IE If you are buying a new motherboard anyway, then it makes sense to spend a bit extra on a DDR5 capable Motherboard and DDR5 over a DDR4 Motherboard and DDR4.
