Does anyone use Rechargeable CR123a 3v batteries

Yes although you are right, the usual battery brands aren't representing this area of the market as its more than likely too specialist for them.
I've used AW brand from these below however only list 18650 size by that brand (18650 is basically the same as 2x cr123a end to end but still only 3.7v). I've heard good reports about the Nitecore brand too but never used them personally so I would happily go with them for cr123a replacements if needed.

You will need a specific charger too. The one I have isn't listed anymore but the Nitecore charger is supposed to be good too.
