I've worked for them on several occasions, but not for this event.

The brief would be to try and get at least one shot of everyone, more if they drown - however sometimes getting everyone is an impossibility. Make sure the photographer can see your race number as priority is given to those.

I'm possibly be going to be the only one doing breaststroke that might make me stand out a bit. Plus I'll br the only green cap amongst the pink caps as I'll take twice as long

Yep. Got the email at half 3 saying it had been cancelled. I'm gutted. Did my last training swim in our local lake earlier (hadn't checked my emails at that point).

I'm going to try and see if the club at the lake can do a challenge for me as I've raised over a grand in sponsorship

Sorry Kelly only just picked this up as been away on holiday then straight back into week long events and other jobs. Yes I do still work for Marathon but yours would have been a bit too far for me had it gone ahead.

It might not have been the official Great Swim but I did my mile challenge today at the local lake where I've been training. Raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer and did the mile in 53 minutes which isn't bad seeing as I was doing breaststroke and haven't done any form of exercise since tearing my ankle ligaments over 2 years ago
