Hello all,
I have just been given a Cuckoo Clock which chimes/Cuckoos once on the half hour and Chimes the same number of times on the hour as the hour is ( 7 times for 7 o'clock) it chimes at the moment an hour behind so 6 times for 7 o'clock but there are some what look like adjustment hatch's on the side , Does anyone know what need to be done ?

I'll be interested to see responses on this, but as owner of a number of long case clocks, I have often had this issue. I usually find I can resolve it by moving the minute hand very carefully to the point where it clicks for the hour chime and then advance no further, or in other cases move the minute hand so quickly through the hours that I somehow get it to the right synchronisation. I really need to get an expert to come and sort them all out (3 long case and three mantle clocks all with pendulums and anything from 24 hour to 8 day movements)

Grandpa used to wind any out-of-synch clocks quickly through the "wrong" hours while the errant clock was chiming. He'd try to do it on the 12 o'clock chime so he had more time.

O.k a bit of a cheat ( bit like taking a Rubics Cube apart and resembling it with each side one colour !) I loosened the fingers and turned them round to the amount of Cuckoo's from the clock so it all match's up now.

I think that bottom one is where the cuckoo lives?
