Does anyone have flickr?

Possible get fewer names on the list if you ask who does not have flickr ;)

also, search for talkphotography on flickr as they have their own group :D

It helps to join groups, not that I really have as I use it for hosting more than promotion.

I wouldn't use flickr if I was paid, but there again if I was paid I might consider it

No, I dont use it, never will use it. I'm not prepared to give away my work

I have not yet signed up but I understand it's still the only way of uploading pics to this site isn't it?

There is a very large thread around here somewhere but I'll be damned if I can find it at the moment with hundreds of members that are on flickr

If I can find it I'll post a link at it is my flickr can be found in my signature

I'm surprised that the subject of endemic theft of images from flickr has not been raised. I appreciate it's a good medium to be seen, and the better your images the more likely you will be a victim of image theft. It could be considered a compliment to have your images stolen, nobody's going to steal rubbish. I appreciate low resolution images may deter theft, but not entirely.

The benefits of course are getting seen and selling images, will this offset the theft of an image? It's quite possible an image may be stolen and subsequently used without the knowledge of the photographer, who know's?

Just my opinion for what it's worth. I feel fortunate in as much as my career in photography was entirely in film and theft of copyright was very rare, in the cases where it did happen and the perpatrator caught, the matter was considered extremely serious and met with the full force of the law. How times change ;)

I think I aught to join before I get my camera, I'll sign up now :D

i use it, but really only for storing images on. If i were to really push it and tag all my stuff i'd be a multi millionaire - but i prefer to just shoot for fun :gag:

Lots of people put their flickr link in their signature....

( Mine seems to come and go for some reason, it may be there now......)
