I have actually enjoyed Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor (TBF I've enjoyed all of them since Jon Pertwee - shows my age)...

But has anyone been able to make any sense of the recent mini-series that just finished?? I am still baffled!

Not the easiest of the series to follow, trying to be too clever I reckon, let’s just stick to monsters trying to take over/destroy the world, is Jodie Whittaker of now then and we’re getting a new one?
Not sure I understood the ending enough to be able to give an explanation, sorry.

Utterly unfathomable. I'm going to binge re-watch it to see if that helps it to make sense.

I have been a fan since the very first episode way back in 1963, with William Hartnell as the Doctor, and it was always considered to be a children's programme. How many 7 - 11 year old kids would have much of an understanding of the last couple of series, I wonder?

I lost interest after Colin Baker TBH, I'd watched them all to that point.
I did watch the odd one after him. ( Just the one program) although I did follow David Tennant series.
The rest I felt were way off course.

I did watch the Christopher Eccleston series, thought that had some good characters in it.

Not watched it for a good few years now (more than 20 for sure)

Yes, made sense. Certainly isn’t going to become a classic though, wasn’t one of the better series,
.

I watched Dr.W. for years but gave up with the current iteration. Nothing to do with the Dr going female as I quite liked that but I hated the virtue signalling right on message preaching storylines. The best thing the Beeb can do, IMO, is drop DR Who and let someone else take it on as the Beeb seem just about incapable of producing social message free entertainment these days.

The over contrived and convoluted and still not working storylines IMO started before this last Dr.

In general I was pleased when they, some years back, decided to get DW out of the dusty broomcupboard and resurrect the program.

However, of the few I watched it just never quite 'worked for me' and I am from the Wm Hartnell/hide behind the sofa generation........so enjoyed and was entertained for many years until it was canned.

None too sure whether its lack of engagement with me in these latter iterations is down my age and/or changes in the storytelling???

Long term fan since the first episode but i find this series utter crap

I managed Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant but then gave up

It just about worked. But it did take far too many liberties with the story telling, which was average, to say the least. It really needed a stronger hand to guide it.
