Yes
Anyone else a fan of Doctor Who, either the old or the new series?

I was hopelessly obsessed with it for over 2 years to the point of studying endless books on the making of the classic series, and having every story on video. It died down somewhat but I am still a great fan of the original series, especially Tom Baker and Peter Davison.

yep, love it. Forget peter davison, it has to be john pertwee and tom baker from the old series. In the new series david tenant is "ok" but the northern guy (name eludes me right now) was brilliant...

Can't say i'm obsessed with it to the point of studying books though!!

Same here, big fans in this house. I don't read books on it, but the kids do. And I agree on the Doctors with Hepburn. Christopher Eccleston was the northern guy and he was very good.

I was a little young for Jon Pertwee, think I spent most of my time hiding behind the sofa while my older siblings watched it.
Tom Baker and Peter Davidson provided my classic memories. After what they did to it with Sly McCoy I didn't hold out much hope for the return but Christopher Ecclestone and David Tenant have been excellent.
I was never a big Billie Piper fan but she didn't spoil it, Freema Agyman  brought a certain something to the mix but when is the current annoying cow going to be killed off! I so hoped it would be last week but no! :bang:

She's as bad an actress as that bint who played Sarah Jane

........... and who likes the Torchwood spin off? The group they had and killed off most of at the end of the last series gelled well together, so I hope they manage to keep that going with a new series.

I did wonder when we saw the Dr's "daugher/clone/whatever" jetting off into cyberspace if that was going to be the beginning of yet another spinoff

Yep, I agree on Torchwood. The kids like the Sarah Jane Adventrues (spinoff on cbbc), and it did look suspiciously like they are going to do a Dr's Daughter series too.

Eh, Torchwood is ok. My mother is into that, but I suppose the classic Who has that nostalgia factor for me and is a comfort of sorts.

I've not seen much of this current series, Katherine Tate shouting annoys me too much. Tennant is good and I liked Ecclescake lots too. My era was more Pertwee and Baker I guess.

I really liked torchwood, it had that classic BBC SciFi thing going on. Much like Blakes 7 with all the actors trying really hard to make up for the 14p per episode budget by taking it all very seriously. :D

My sons and I are Dr Who fans, youngest is a bit young for Torchwood, but loves the Sarah Jane Adventures. I have a few of the old classics on Video. Didn't watch any of the McCoy episodes, lost interest when Bonnie Langford became a companion.
My youngest son and I have met Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant (Dr's companion in the Davidson/Colin Baker years) and Louise Jameson (Leela).

watch it with suzie, shes really into it, and could cope with the last 2 series with the other 2 assistants but i cant stand catherine tate in it,

torchwood is much better

I don't think much of this series that's being shown at the moment, I may be an evil parent but I like seeing my kids scared like I used to be in the early 70s :D

The standout episodes for child terror were "are you my mummy" and Blink with the weeping angels, Blink was a brilliant episode which the doctor was barely in which goes to show that the story is the important part not the special effects

These were brilliant episodes. You'll be glad to hear that the guy that wrote these, Steven Moffat is taking over Russell T Davies' job for the new series in 2010.

first question who is bonnie langford. lol. and has anyone heard of the new spin off coming out called K9? yep hes getting his own show its in production now :D to add to dr who, torchwood, the sara jane adventures, and i also heard rumours of soldier guys gettign a spin off. i love dr who

first question who is bonnie Langford. lol.

I hope you don't meet her and ask, because she'll scream and scream and scream until she's sick.

Torchwood and Dr Who fan here, but get rid of Catherine Tate. The doctor assistance is always a young babe not an old hag.

I must agree with spannerdude Freema Agyeman

I wouldn't eactly call her an old hag though I do agree us dads are used to a 20 something in tight clothes.

I was hoping it'd be Sally Sparrow from Blink, she'd be perfect:naughty:

Just to a have a quick pedant moment, it's Doctor and not Dr. ;):D

Those were brilliant episodes, my daughter was really freaked out by the "are you my mummy" one

I think David Tennant is a great Doctor but I do think Catherine Tate (although quite funny in it) does seem to be taking over somewhat. Bring back Billie Piper!

Eh, I have a collection of letters from Tom Baker and various others. I once had John Leeson's phone no (K-9) and used to phone him about the business and his leica that he had. Was also phone by John Levene, aka Sergeant Benton in Pertwee era. I only ever did one convention which was 35-up at Bafta, and used to be friends with Sophie Aldred, aka ACE. Nice girl...well, woman, but she always looked so much younger than she was. I just stopped writing to people once the interest lessened.

i quite like Tennant as the doctor,. didnt like freema whatserface, her acting sucks, catherine tate is all her comedy characters in one character, though i doubt we we will get a 'what a ****** liberty!" out of her...Piper was ok but i think the doctor requires a space nymph with skimpy outfits

i think billy piper is fit... she shuld dress like she does in the secret diary of a call girl

Anyone see this Saturday's episode. Pretty good I thought but what was up with Billy Piper!? Looks like she had a bit of botox done. Top lip didn't seem to move and seemed to be slurring, maybe it was supposed to be like that? Saw an interview with her since the episode and she seemed back to normal.

The next episode looks like it's going to be fantastic. The return of Davros - a bit of a treat for those who liked the original series.

yeah she had a lisp i noticed that... and davros is back or dave ross as he likes to be known to his friends :D my fav enemy
