Yes
After reading a post just wondered how many of you use filters as protection for lenses and how many use them to aid photography, especially now photoshopping can do so much??

The only filters I use are polarisers.

I use hoods to protect the lenses, and PhotoShop to do creative things.

I use Lee ND grads and an 81A, also most of my lenses have either clear or other filters attached to protect them

All my lenses (Bar my 300mm f2.8) have B&W UV filters attached for protection. I also use a Lee filter kit for ND grads and ND filters. However I have just ordered a 77mm ND10 and a 77mm deep red filter and will be selling my Lee kit. I also have a Hoya R72 IR filter, but this is only 52mm so doesn't get used much these days.

I used to use filters for protection, up to about a year ago; but now like StewartR and mattyh, I use a hood for protection and the lens cap for protection when I put away my gear.

I have a huge collection of Cokin filters which I used to use back in the "film" days, but have since stoped using them .. don't have that much time for added creativity sadly!

I plan to buy CP filters for my existing range, but I am still reluctant to do that ... some times I do think of going back to using my Cokin filters to add a bit of drama to what I shoot, but that's not for now .. may be in the summer?

I also use hoods and the lens caps for protection, i understand why people use uv's to protect the lens but as they can cost upto £80 for certain sizes i risk not using them and the cash can go on new glass, bet you i scratch one now though!!!!!!

All my L lenses have UV filters attached since you need one in order to complete the weather sealing on a lot of models.

Other than that I use a B+W CPL lots, Cookin Grad ND's and a Cook IR filter.
