Wow, that's quite a shock, especially considering his fitness levels. Did he have anything underlying? So far I thankfully only know survivors.

Yes. An uncle of Mrs Nod's died fairly early in the pandemic. Elderly and had fairly severe respiratory problems but Covid was the last straw.

One of my wife's distant relatives living in the US died from it in August, and a sister in law's cousin died from it in Iran.

Three - but working in an acute hospital I'm probably not "average"

Three - and nearly me.

The latest just last week. He had a heart attack and was rushed in. They did a triple bypass and it was successful. Alas - whilst in there he got Covid-19 and died 2 weeks later :(

My sister, her husband, and then one of my uncles. I hate this @@@@ing virus....

An ex colleague and his wife earlier this year, they passed within 24 hours of each other. And there are people in denial of this virus.

That's brutal.

It made for a crap Easter, we lost my Sister on Easter Monday, her Husband a week later, and then my Uncle went in the Summer (he was 85 mind you...). My Sister had been poorly for years, but she just couldn't fight Covid as well. We think my Brother-in-law just gave up as he idolised my sister.

I still haven't got over it, even typing this is a bit emotional. And as Martin says, there's still people running around in denial and telling others "you shouldn't comply"......

That's really sad, you're meant to go into hospital to get better...

A while ago I mentioned a thread for those no longer with us, I didn't post one.

I haven't lost anyone for a few years now but I just thought that a safe place on the internet to post a picture and some thoughts might be "nice." I don't really do social media so this place is as comfortable and safe as it gets for me. Maybe other people have facebook or other places to post this sort of thing but I don't have any of that.

If anyone thinks a remembrance thread might be a good idea for people who have lost someone and want to post a picture and some thought maybe they could start one? If not, I might when my need arises.

Just a thought.
