I am looking out for a D300 I have finally decided [and I will be selling my D200 if anyone is interested ;)]

But...I am going to focus on Wednesday....now do I purchase online from jessops [£999.99] or await to see if Jacobs have an offer on [Currently online its approx £1025] do we think the offers will be better at Focus?

I am unsure as with the prices keep going up, Jessops is competative at the moment!

Help!?

I would think that if there are going to be worthwhile deals to be had at focus, they may well not still be around by wednesday.

getcha skates on girl. :D

ooohh, smooth plan from andrewc.

I quite like the plan andrewc, but I could have it by tuesday if I ordered it this weekend  and I am not sure if its going to be worth hanging around "just to see" and then not get a good deal at focus :( [Jessops prices may have gone up by then]

I'm purchasing on my credit card, and have lost the pin-number. I can buyonline [not instore] over my credit card, but unfortunately I might not have the pin by wednesday either

Do a BT into my account and I'll buy it for you - if there's no deal there, I'll just BT it back again

Or Jessops do the buy now pay say 12 months later deal. That's how I brought my D300! After doing the paperwork and providing id etc I walked out with the camera after about 20 mins having not paid a bean!

The money is sitting in my bank account earning what passes pathetically for interest these days. I pay the amount when they write to me.

That takes discipline - and she's a woman who likes knickers

In a year's time she may be selling a bucket load of knickers to pay the 'unexpected' bill

I did this before. But just to inform you they dont write to you to inform you that payment is due ;) you can also have a payment book and pay as and when you have the money.

I may have just given myself an Idea

Amazon is cheaper, But i prefer to go to Jacobs Myself pay a bit more but the staff are really helpful down here. I got a free monopod with my camera
last week. If you can hold on for a month I know they will be dropping prices.
Says me who could not wait.
still good luck, what ever you do you have to live with it.
Pressure pressure:D:shrug:

I am hoping to get a 105 BW CP and a LEE filter holder + adaptor on Tuesday, but I just wonder if they might sell out Sun/Mon....

Something that I did. There is a credit charge of £29 that I offset by buying a 6 month bond through Nationwide at a fixed 6.5% pro rata. If my calcs are right, I may make a *small* profit, it is unlikely that the OP could get that interest rate right now. Using an interest free credit card with cash back is probably the best option right now.

Diego...........How do you think this one compares to the Heliopan or Lee CP  Is it a price thing or quality edging your choice...........

Not seen the others to compare, but I have used a friends and it was stunning. Expensive. Please if there are other versions available do advise as they are 'bloomin' expensive.

Not tried any in anger myself just read that the Heliopan caused less vignetting when wide open.............I'll have a further look around.

I never mentioned Jeesops but Jacobs all you can do is wait and see
Guess I am not known well enough here yet.
But as I have stated earlier, you have all been good to me
all I am doing is returning the favour.

No its got nothing about you not being here long enough, I am just asking how do you know they're dropping their prices.
When everywhere is price hiking on 1st March.

What about buying online now and if you get a better deal returning it under Jessops money back thing.

When I went to Focus last year I didn't see any deals that were better than online retailers, in fact most were slightly more expensive, once you factor in travel, parking & entry costs you are better off buying online in my opinion unless you are going to the show anyway.
