Do people think this works?

looks like a private page

In a word, "no." The blurring is just nasty in my opinion, and the girl looks cut-off at the front as she's so close to the curtain or whatever it is. The over-exposed pew also distracts.

Had a quick squizz through some of the other's in that album, you have some decent shots, but you need to lose the added blur and dodgy selective colouring fast if you ask me.

Jamie.

LMAO are you really a wedding photographer? Do you do it for family and friends only?

The blurs..........rips the picture apart, and makes my eye's blur

..

What camera are you using?

There you go dave.

THIS IS NOT MINE

Doesn't work for me either I'm afraid, I can see where your coming from with this, but the blur is just too close to the girls face for me. Wayne

the brown blur to the left of the little girl totally destroys the image, to me needed more clarity around her to make it work.
shame as it would of been a good one.

hope this helps
Eric

With a slightly different angle you could have cropped it to make a decent photo, but the girl blends into the brown thing in the foreground, ruining it.

I dont get it - I really dont. And I personally dont like it.
I have had a look thru the other wedding images on the facebook account [as im already on facebook] and I personally think the blurring spoils them - and - I dont think the selective colouring works well on most either.

Thanks for suggestions and ideas it was as I said in post for comments as I was interested in others opinions. Sorry about the facebook link I did not realise it would ask people to join first apologies on that.

Hey well, you have had some pretty harsh crit but don't be put off. Keep trying and keep asking for advice. Good on you for getting into weddings, must be tough. Chin up, post us some of your better ones!

Gary.

Yeah sorry I dislike it too. Here's my reasons:

1) I know that Facebook degrades the quality of images when you upload them, but the image quality isn't great, looks like you didn't use a high enough shutter speed.

2) That blur that you have added (I assume in Photoshop?) really in my opinion ruins the image. I understand exactly what you were trying to do but for next time, get your lens wide open so you have a nice shallow depth of field. As long as the sublect isn't directly in line with any surroundings (in this case the bride and groom) then you will get some nice background blur.

What kit did you use for these photos?

God only knows why people feel like they need to use cheap effects like this. Take well composed photos using depth of field to isolate people in good light either with a flash or natural light.

nope , sorry. dont like it.
but if the bride does, why worry.
found that out in the 60 odd weddings weve done. some shots that i dont like, will make the album. evn some of the weird ones.
good on ya for trying something out anyway.
and being brave enough to post it.

can understand why the parents like it, but no, not for me

hi every one, couldn't find an introduction thread

Can't decide which is worse, the photo, or the number of seemingly normal peeps....with Facebook accounts..
