I do hope someone on here can help.

For two years i have enjoyed my excellent Panasonic DMC FZ38.

I took it out for some bad weather shots and now camera is kaput. Cost of repair via Pannys main agent v eBay used, doesn't make sense.

Would I be best to stay with the same camera as it doesn't look like much has superceded it completely, unless I am to consider the overpriced (IMO) Fz200.

Happy to spend a max of £200 for something better or should I buy a second-hand one from eBay?

Considering hanging on and see what offers come out at Xmas but hate being without.

My uses vary from family shots to experimenting with various night, scenery, street scenes, people studies, Etc.

Any advice greatly welcomed.
Thanks

I went through a fair range of Panny FZ's, the 20, 30, 38 and 48, before I made the switch to a dslr. While the dslr's have given me a better IQ and made it easier for me the FZ's were a great range. I ended up with the FZ48 like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-FZ-48-black/dp/B005DV9YR6 rather than go for the FZ50 which seemed to me to be a step down in functions. The FZ48 is a cracking camera and wouldn't hesitate to go back to a Panasonic if I ever gave up with a dslr.
