I'm looking for an inexpensive dabble in portable constant lighting, LEDs.

Something like this
http://petapixel.com/2015/01/14/made-homemade-ice-light-less-30/

I had a concern about catch lights, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Has anyone else got any suggestions to look at?

A battery powered LED strip + diffused contain would probably be about right, just looking for ideas.

I only read half the comments there, but they missed a very important point.

When discussing colour accuracy, it's one thing to say 'you can do a custom WB if you're fussy', but the reality is that many cheap light sources have a low CRI, so there's actually bits of the colour spectrum missing, so you'll never get accurate colours.

It's your call, but I'm of the opinion that my light demands more attention than my camera, a half decent camera can capture gorgeous lighting, a Hasselblad will produce meh shots with crap light.

I was looking at is as a challenge.

I wasn't sure I'd bother going to Comic Con again, I was boring myself. In the past I decided against constant lighting due to it's negatives, but for a tiny investment, it could be fun.
