Hi,

I would quite like to experiment with some macro/product/water drop photography but I don't really want to be buying an lighting right now.

Do you guys have any tips for lighting that I might already have that I can use? For example the best type of bulbs, homemade soft boxes etc? DIY lighting basically.

Many thanks,

Josh :)

for water drops continuous light won't cut it I'm afraid, easiest way in is a cheap old skool manual flashgun and some radio triggers then check out the mods FITP has in the for sale section - my softbox cost 4 times the amount and the light quality is no different :bang:

For product photos I tend to use a couple of angle-poise lamps from Ikea, and then I got a couple of daylight flourescent bulbs from Ebay (such as http://biSPAM/PbiIL). You should be able to set something up for less than £30.

Great, thanks for the help.

Shame about the water drops, but when I invest in a flash gun I'll give it a go!
