Disk Usage on Mac Other Folder

I have a 256SSD and already used 100gb of it and don't have that much on my mac when i go to about this computer it says i have 64gb in other

What is other?

I checked it 10 mins ago and it was 40gb and 10 mins later its gone up to 64gb how can i find out where and what this is?

Edit: Checked again and now its gone back down to 44gb
