maybe this needs a bit more publicity as it doesnt seem to have really captured the imagination of the forum - either that or people are finding it hard to wade through the acres of 'great shot' to find the occasional gem of critque

Sadly, I don't do enough of it though Pete... but I do appreciate being "mentioned in despatches" so to speak. I think you'd find that pretty much all the "staff" here are on the ball when it comes to giving critique however, and certainly Sarah and Yv are far more tactful in their phrasing than I manage to be :)

yeah i quasi nominated hacker earlier on for a very good bit of wedding crit - i know he can't win but i guess a MiD might be appreciated

I think we'd all like to do more TBH.
I try to post at least one critique every time I log on, but it's so easy to get bogged down with other stuff :(

Well never one not the obey the word of a good woman :naughty: I've not amended my signature to promote this competition and will look out for some good critique while I'm out there in the wild of the forum

Christine - I think its a combination of both

When I looked, I did find a lot of "ooh great" kind of commetns which in themselves are fine but they are not critique are they. Ones like those that you and others highlighted/posted in here are more the type but they did appear to be more the exception?

At the same time, I didn't want to trawl through lots of posts hoping I might come across the elusive critique of critiques!
 
I must admit I probably looked at a lot more posts, and looked at them differently, than I might usually trying to find critique I considered helpful. Maybe not only the giving that would have to change but also the receiving as so often it is totally ignored or just passed over by the OP of a thread
 
Anyword on the outcome - given that judging was underway nearly 3 weeks ago , or have the judges sucumbed to jaffa cake poisoning ?

I have been extremely busy..... I think that we have just about sorted it out but it's not as quick as judging a photo comp because there were more entries and you have to go into each thread to see the original post and the entry etc.

Give us a couple of days and we will post the results.

Thanks for the update Darren - we know this ones a little tougher to judge so no worries with a few more days.
