Right this thread is for discussion about the chester zoo competition.

The closing date is 21st August to give time for those using film too.

Will update this post later with more details.....
 
I think all of the images so far in both threads are a bit bland :lol:

Hi,

Thanks to ka$h and his insistance on me bringing my point and shoot!! ... have added my (poor) efforts to the beginners thread, never used my camera in ways I have today! Now wanting ka$h to buy me an adapter!!

Thankyou for letting me drag along!

Oh and thankyou to Button-moon for my little girls obsession with pink flamingos!

thanks to darren for lugging that light setting along to the zoo for me....im bound to have a play with it sometime!

thanks to Chris who drove for hours to collect me n drop me off too!!

well i started processing some of mine last night...i was tired n looking back at them this morning i think ive over PS'd them :( still got a few to do aswell!!
 
This one is particularly aimed at K$sh but also everyone else...

You just put your six pictures in. They do not need to be 2 for each section and you do not even have to say which section they are for. You can put in 4 mammals and 2 non mammals if you like or 6 non animals, the choice is totally yours. I just want your 6 best pictures but bear in mind that there are 3 sections for judging :)
 
How long does it usually take for the registration email to appear in your inbox? Bob would like to enter one or two pics but we've been waiting about an hour and still no email.

We use the same computer but different email addys so didn't think there would be a problem.

BTW, we haven't seen a bad pic posted from you lovely people. Next time I'm sticking like glue to one of you. I'm desperately in need of some, (a lot) of guidence.

The best way to contact admin is to report a post. I've just reported your post so one of them will be able to answer the question shortly I hope. I am sure I got mine by return though so are you sure your email is working and the address was typed right?
 
Thanks Darren, I've checked Bob's profile page and everything 'seems' correct. :shrug:

I'll sit back and wait for admin to get in touch. :wave:
 
I see a Tractor bob on the same IP as richmond awaiting email confirmation - which means they need to click the link in the email that has been sent.

I can also see the email address used but changing it if wrong is an admin job.

Not going to be around much longer but if you want to PM me the email address I can tell you if it is the same...
 
Address was correct. PM'd another suggestion. then its down to admin.
 
Changed the address as requested and resent the activation email :)

I got something off Nat too :thumbs: No idea what it is but I can't open it yet because I'm still in my 30s.......
 
thanks Nat, darren is going to give me a lesson on studio photography first!! then hopefully i can get some nice pics!! :)

darren...not long to go now for your birthday...ill be in York though on the day so ill say it now....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :)

Ess...just taken a look....your butterfly pictures are stunning!!! you are a total natural!! and the chimp pic is really good too!!! john deffo needs to get u a camera!!!
and the only pic of flamingos ive seen so far :)

Aww thank you!! The standard of the entries is amazing... I love your Mr G Raff pic... When we get one of those dodgy emails from
Africa to say we've won a billion Ugandan dollars John always replies and gives his name as Mr G Raff or Miss C Lyons and gives the Zoos address and phone number haha!!

I had an amazing time at the Zoo and I'm pining for my G2 now!!

I think that you really suited that G2 but you would need that better lens to make it all peachy.

No Juniors can all enter the beginners section unless THEY chose to go in the other section.
