I'm looking at getting a Sigma 30mm f1.4, and the Digital Rev price is absolutely fantastic, 289.99 compared with say Jessops, 400.00, and most other places I've found are just shy of 400.

I've never gone for a Sigma before, due to the fact I've heard bad things regarding focusing, soft copies and the like. Are Digital Rev safe and reliable? I'm only asking because they seem to be Hong Kong based I believe? And I'm a little reluctant buying from there due to the fact if there's an issue with the lens, I.e a soft copy etc... It's a hell of a long way to send it back. If there's an issue with it, can I just send it to Sigma for calibration, for free? Or would I have to return it to Digital Rev?

Bought a Sigma 50-500mm a few years ago from Hong Kong. Delivery was very fast, 4 days, and although I had to pay duty upon delivery, DigitalRev had refounded the money into my account even before Customs & Revenue had paid from my account !

Digital Rev, or Onestop both based in Hong Kong both have superb reputations, you will get your goods have no fear of that, and usually pretty quick to arrive.

If you get a problem you have to send the item back to them.

I am fairly sure that Sigma UK would require payment to carry out any work on the lens, as it is a grey import.

guys, i have a question. if i wanted to buy from digitalrev, say the cost of a 550D+kitlens dslr camera is stated there £509.99(£434.03 excl.). so what does this suppose to mean? and the import duty, how does that suppose to work? i mean, how do i refund it later? and usually, how much will the import duty costs?

Alternatively there is One Stop Digital who I've used a lot and spent £0000's with.

Cheaper still for the Sigma and excellent service. Normally if I order something its with me in typically 2 or 3 days

And they guarantee no VAT and will re-imburse you if it is charged. I've had three high value lenses in the past couple of months and not had any extra to pay. Postage is also included in all the prices which makes them an even better deal :)

If you buy direct from thier website, the price displayed is the price you pay. No extra charges. The lower price is - the VAT.

On ebay its different, some items have vat some dont. If you have to pay customs on the items listed with vat, then they will refund you the customs fee when you send them the receipt. If you choose something without VAT and you get stung with customs, then they wont refund you as thats the chance you took.

What's the situation with these companies for warranty then? If I purchased from them is it just a case of returning the lens to them if I have a warranty claim?
I'm looking at getting a Canon 55-250mm lens and have found the best prices for new are on Digital Rev and One Stop Digital.

I wouldn't have any qualms about buying from DR, however I would think long and hard before buying a Sigma lens (particularly one with a reputation for poor QC) from anything other than a UK seller and preferably one with a high street presence...

DR have a UK address [London, last time I saw it] to post things back to for repair/replacement.

For purchasing from our website DigitalRev.com, we offer with Locally Serviced. No Prior approval required Warranty service, which means you can have the item serviced locally in UK for any manufacture defects.

You can see the differences and full details at DIGITALREV LOCALLY SERVICED WARRANTY.

I was never impressed with your efforts to send me a replacement battery (search on here for details), however I am less than amused with your spam emails.

Kindly desist !

Cracking stuff with my first order from them.

Sent at the end of last week and arrived at my door yesterday (Monday) morning.

Highly recommended and would use them again.
