Edit My Images
Yes
Hello, I have just joined Talk Photography and I would appreciated help on Digital Photo Frames.
At present have all my digital photographs stored on a 4Gb USB Flash disk, each set of photos saved on separate folders.
Can USB Flash drives be used directly on Digital Photo Frames?
If this procedure is possible, what are the correct steps to take? and if possible which make of DPF worth considering?
Many thanks, for reading my post and any answers given.

i believe the use memory cards rather than usb drives! dont quote me on that as i'm sure someone has thought of it by now!

A good few use just about every storage medium...ok not cd or floppy disk.
They often have onboard memmory
as well as all the ports for cards and flash drives
even allowing you to play a soundtrack to the images also.

Rant Warning below...

Im trying to get a refund at the moment from wedodigital as ordered frame and arrived dead then well over a month later another arrived as they were waiting for stock and this has 1 dead pixcell they say manufacturer allows 3 what on a 12 inch frame. and when they stuck the screen in the frame its slightly wonky and off centre so slight border to one side and image slight slant. I have had it too long to get refund they say well you only just delivered it.
GGGGRRRRR,
Sorry for rant...
Im still after one myself once i get my money back wife wants a frame for christmas pressy loaded with pics.

Apparently from the number of suggestions posted, Digital Frames are still in small numbers of users - is this caused by manufacturers still experimenting with perfect mode of picture presentation or is the price demanded to high?
Is Sony the best manufacturer in this field of picture reproduction.
Sony, I must say are very vague in quoting the workings of their models - as I fail to read any reference to use of USB flash cards for storing and displaying digital photographs stored within their 4Gb memory USB flash cards.
Is there any sources available on the Web, where information on DPFs can be procured?

I would definitely say that Digital Picture Frames are cutting edge i.e crap and expensive.I am sure they are the future - but not just yet.

I would definitely say that they are very good. The Sony I bought my Dad is brilliant. I've got loads of my work on there, photos of the family and all sorts. It has a clear display and simply does a great job.

Well I love my photoframe, permanently runs thru my Lake District photos, it's a Kodak SV811, also bought one for my parents, it takes all memory cards & USB, I have SD, CF & USB all plugged in at the same time & choose which to watch. Had some problems getting it to display edited images but managed to sort that without Kodaks help who never got back to me, for sale in Boots at the moment think it's £80, good returns policy if not happy, if you get one & have any probs, pm me, I'll try to help.
Sharp image, good colours, good luck, nothing to loose really with such a good returns policy.
Kevin :)
ps, would advise against getting wireless version.

Kevin, what size is the screen m8..

Hi, physical dimensions are visable viewing screen 180x100mm ie, widescreen (ish) not normal photo image size, but I don't think any frames are, resolution is 800x480 pixels, I'm very pleased with sharpness & colour, & I'm very fussy!, just done search on the web & Boots are cheaper than anything that came up at £80
I have set up an automatic action in cs3 to format to fight size, crop, save, etc, makes easy work of editing, action available if you want it.
Regards Kevin
I can check our local Boots if you want, although won't be so easy for yor to return.

Well, that's me told...

Petmc - am I correct in thinking, pictures taken with my Sony P72 camera memory stick and and same pictures transfered to the USB drive stick can in turn be plugged into the Sony Digital Picture Frame?
LCD frames have never been known to give high picture quality. In TV LCD screens - five faulty pixels are according to manufacturers a normal fault, not if they are located near centre of lighted screen area.
Check well before parting with your cash.
