OK, maybe I'm just thick, but will me SB-600 work OK on my F80 and F60?

Cant see why not. After all , a flash is just a source of light. And film cameras were sturdier, which can handle a much higher voltage; and trigger almost any flash.

Offcourse, you may have to set the flash power manually; unless the flash is compatible to the body.
