I would like to thank Stuart, Jake and John of Digital Depot for the trouble they took yesterday at the St Albans meet. They brought a vast range of lenses for us to try. They were informative, friendly and they gave up their only free day for us. I was tempted to try a couple of Nikon lenses but my credit card has had a bashing this summer. ( Sorry Stuart!) I would like to point out i have no affiliation with them-I was just amazed at their generosity in freely lending out equipment, especially as we didn't stick together as a group for a large part of the day. From now on I will be stopping at their website, to try and pass on my business to them. Rob

Stuart let me try out the Tamron 18-270mm (even though it was the nikon version) and I was very impressed.
For anyone considering the Canon 55-250mm, even though it is a good lens, I would say save up a bit longer and go with the Tamron.
Right, m'off to sell my Canon 55-250 and also an internal organ :)
 
Big Up the DD crew, didn't borrow any lenses but what a fantastic gesture to bring so many along for people to try out. I hope some people will be ordering some glass from them soon.
 
I've done a couple of courses at DigitalDepot and was really impressed by their staff. Trouble is last one I did I ended up with new tripod and head costing over £150. Now that's salesmanship!!

Wish I could have made yesterday but don't think credit card would have!
 
Another thumbs up for them, popped into the shop as was in the area today - I had already got a great price from them on a D300.
