Digital Depot calls in administrator

Yes i had a letter from the administrators today, as i had booked a couple of courses from DD in November and as i paid on my debit cad it looks like i may have lost my money, unless someone takes them over before then :( bloody DD never had much good service from them.
 
The next issue of Amateur Photographer out on Tuesday has a large article on DigitalDepot going in to administration and the reasons for it.

Hope everything can be sorted out for them.

I've been on a couple of their courses and brought stuff from them.

Isn't one of their staff a member on TP?
 
Having read the article in Amateur Photog magazine, it makes me :puke: when it appears that they are in this mess partly due to the council not being ready with the reddies. Double standards again in the public sector.

I hope they find a good buyer and wish them and the staff all the best for the future. Having used them several times, I always thought it was a great service they provided.

I hate public sector TAPE.
 
I took a course with DD and thought they were great. Hope anyone who has pre-paid for anything gets their money back as well as the staff getting something sensible sorted out too.
 
Yowzers! I didn't know this.

Yes, DigitalDepot, and one of their staff members are on TP.
(Although the staff member has since left IIRC).

You mean the council? I agree. Sucks doesnt it :(
 
Apparently according to another post on here they have been taken over, so might mean i get to go on the course after all :)
 
Hi Guys.

I thought I would give you all an update.

As from monday with the help of a backer I have purchased the Digital Depot name etc and will continue trading in the main shop.

I have been here for 11 years and was very saddened when the owner decided to call in the administrators.

I want to apologies to anyone that has lost money and I will do whatever I can to make it up to you somehow if i can.

Someone else will be running the Imaging Academy but we have full use of the studio etc so we will be doing a few courses every month as well.

It will take us some time to get things back up to speed so please bear with us.
