If you like that idea, try a plastic milk bottle. Works like a Fong 
Even cheaper, make a bounce card and secure it with a rubber band. Same idea as here: www.abetterbouncecard.com These little devices work extremely well for excellent bounce flash with a perfect dash of fill - the bigger the card, the more fill you get.
