Difficulties Reducing Image to Put Into Gallery

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if someone can offer me some help and advice.

I have edited 2 Images in CS3 and want to put them into the TP Gallery so that I can then transfer them to my Project 52, but the smallest I can save them in jpeg format is 227 and 238 kb respectively. How do I get them to the allowed size to enter the gallery?

All advice would be gratefully received.

Resize the width to using Image > Image Size >
Then go to File > Save for web & devices > You can then adjust the quality until you see the file size drop below 200kb. The file size displays in the bottom left. Usually between 92-97% quality depending on image.
 
Thanks Rikki for your help, have managed it I think. May I also ask how I change my Thread Title to include the weeks Theme,

If you firstly reduce to 800 px on the longside @ 72dpi, then save at around 10 (no need for maximum as it makes no difference for most browsers) you should then have a file size below 200kb.

That is how I save for POTN. No guess work needed at all.
