Difference between sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens models

Hi all, i am interested in buying the above lens, but, there are two versions for sale in warehouse express. The difference between them that i can tell is in the spec, one is HSM and one is HSMII, but there is also a £210 price difference. Is there something i'm missing here.:shrug: The models are 70-200 f2.8 ex dg apo macro HSM or HSMII and i will be using it on a 40D. Are there any image quality issues to be aware of between the lenses? Is one a better built version than the other?
I am totally confused I want to make the right decision in what version to get and hope that your input will help.

version II of the 70-200 EX HSM lens was released in August. The preceding version is being discounted to get rid of them.

Last time I looked 7dayshop had the new version for less than the price of the old version

I don't know what the difference is between the new/old HSM variants but I'm very happy with my HSM (old) version if that helps

pxl8 i had a look on 7dayshop and was pleasantly surprised at the price I have used them before and was happy with the service I had. I Will have to make my mind up soon as they are showing low stock. Will give this thread a chance to see further comments though.
