Noticed a few issues with my Kodak... any initial ideas as to what these image faults could possibly be caused by?

Failing card or failing camera would be my guess. If another card works fine, it's (probably) that card but if there's no improvement, I'd guess that the camera is dying. :(

Yup.

faced with this I'd format the card and if that didn't work I'd replace it and if that didn't work I'd assume the camera was on the way out.

Hope you get it sorted Sticky but if not maybe you'll need to buy yourself a new toy, and sometimes that's a good thing :D

These days, if a card is getting unreliable, I'd go straight to replacing it and using the (potentially) dodgy one purely for short term storage like moving non critical files from machine to machine. A few years ago (OK, 10 or so years!), memory wasn't as cheap as it is now so replacing wasn't as easy an option!

You know what, got a new (old!) memory card and it's just fine! Thanks goodness... I'm never giving up on these Kodak DSLRs... (Got about 10 so if anyone wants one... ;) )
